This month has seemed to take FOREVER! So, so happy Lilly is here!
My friend invited us over for a pool party and Wendy had a blast! |
She must have been thirsty because she kept on trying to drink the water from the little fountains that spurt up. |
Baxter trying on some accessories.... |
We decided to have Taco Bell for dinner one night and Wendy insisted on eating her burrito with a fork. |
Wendy's favorite show: High 5! |
In trying to keep her entertained, I introduced Wendy to the Telletubbies. I think they scared her. |
We go to the library on Tuesday's and Wednesday's and they have big Lego blocks for the kids to play with. This day, she figured out how to link the blocks together! |
Grandma Kelly got here just in time to give me a well-needed break! Wendy loved playing with her and going on all sorts of adventures. |
PJ, Grandma, and Wendy went on a bike ride through the greenbelt which goes by the Boise river. |
They also had a picnic lunch and mini photo shoot. |
We also went shopping... |
And to the splash park! |
During a break, Wendy just had to have my shoes on. |
Sliding at the park! |
Putting mulch on the mini-skate park. |
We had an event come to Boise called "Dairy Days" where they had a carnival and farm animals on display. Wendy wasn't really sure what to think about the big cows but she did pet them a little. |
There were chickens and these little lambs too. |
Wendy got to get her first box of sidewalk chalk too. |
She can even write her own name! (not really but look at her beautiful drawings all around!) |
Trying on Grandma's shoes this time. |
Playing in the pool with Daddy! |
Last family photo of just the three of us. (This was the day before I had Lilly) |
It was such a nice day to play with friends in the pool. |
Last pregnancy picture for a while! |
Wendy knows how lounge in the pool. |
Once Wendy was on the boogie board, her little friend, Reagan, wanted up too. |
Cool girls! |
High Five! |
Walking around the dog park to give Baxter some exercise. |
Another fun day at the splash park! |
Drying off and getting some lunch. |
We were able to celebrate Father's Day at Texas Road House with some steak! |
Headed to church on Father's day where all the Father's were treated with pie! |
"High Five!" |
Wendy just loves her Daddy! |
Later that day, as is Sunday tradition, we headed to the dog park. |
Headed to church! |
Lilly was due on the day of our anniversary so we spent all day waiting to see if I was going to go into labor. When it got to dinner time, we decided we would go to a local Thai restaurant and get some dinner as well as a sushi appetizer. Wendy wasn't quite in bed yet, so we sat in the car and ate it while we waited for her to go to bed. Not the most romantic, but we had fun. Happy 8th Anniversary! |
I was able to schedule an induction two days after the due date so we could get Lilly out! I got a good night's sleep the night before, checked in to the hospital on June 30 at 7:00 a.m. and got started on pitocin around 8:00 a.m. |
I had my water broken around 12:00 p.m. and my epidural administered shortly thereafter. Then around 4:00 p.m. I started feeling a lot of pressure, started pushing around 4:30 and Lilly was born at 4:50. |
Here she is! Lilly Anne Mitchell. Born June 30 at 4:50 p.m. weighing 7lbs 9.8 oz and measuring 20 inches long. |
Meeting Lilly for the first time! |
And ready to take a nap. |
Lilly let us sleep a whole 5 hours the first night she was born. The nurse took her away to get her bath and she woke us up 5 hours later. The nurse said she actually had to wake Lilly up so she could eat! |
I love the little bow they put in her hair. |
Clean and warm and cozy too! |
PJ teaching Lilly to be a computer engineer. |
We were able to have a friend come to the hospital to take pictures of Wendy meeting Lilly and Wendy was instantly in love. Ever since we've been home, Wendy has taken to the role of big sister by helping burp Lilly, helping me to know when Lilly is crying, helping to rock Lilly in her swing (as pictured), and many other things. We are all smitten! |
For Independence day, we dressed the girls in their most patriotic outfits to see the fireworks. |
"American Cutie"- absolutely! |
Excuse the fake smile, but we have two cute girls for sure! |
Lilly in a sweet outfit her great-grandma bought for her. |
Even though PJ helped me and the girls get dressed, this was my first time out of the house with both girls. We were able to do it by 10 a.m.! |
One night, when I was cooking dinner, I noticed the house was especially quiet and went around to make sure everyone was OK. I found everyone asleep! The smell of dinner really lures everyone to sleep. |
Wendy has thinks it is funny to play in Lilly's car seat. |
I'll find her at random times climbing in there and chilling out. |
For Independence Day, we shot off some fireworks as well as threw poppers. Wendy thought it was hilarious! |
We've been taking walks to the park almost daily and Wendy has mastered sliding down the big slide. |
She has also discovered markers. |
I had to go shopping for some new shirts and shoes because she's growing so fast! |
This is her counting down to her sliding down the slide. |
"One, Two, Three, GO!" |
Daddy counting down for them to go down the slide. |
"One, Two, Three, GO!" |
Walking on the wall with Daddy. |
And a cute gift from Pop and Grandma-Heather! Her first apron. She definitely likes helping in the kitchen. |
