W&L June 2019

We started June off to a great start by going on a hike!

Even Pop came along!

Lilly was singing to nature...

And then passed out.

Wendy picked flowers all along the path and gave me various bouquets.

We headed to Wendy's restaurant to cool off after our hike in honor of Wendy scoring a goal at her last soccer game!

This is Wendy's "I'm modeling" face. She found some great costume jewelry at a nearby garage sale.

Back at the pool!

Outside the pool there is this plant with a huge flowering stem coming out of it. We were all amazed!

I finished Lilly's blanket with her special onesies on it.

And after a gym class one day, I took the kids to the pool at the gym!

Then I was off to be camp director at a youth group camp for a week while PJ and Pop held down the home front.

They had puppet shows

Went to the park (high five with your feet!)

Played in the sand

Went to go see Aladdin in the theatres

And went to a birthday party for one of Wendy's classmates at school!

I had my hair braided at the beginning of camp so I wouldn't have to worry about washing or styling it and this is what it looked like at the end of camp! I felt about as crazy as my hair looked.

The sunset for the testimony meeting was perfect though.

Once I got back, the couch became my home for a couple of days. Those teenagers really know how to party!

Getting the girls equipped with tap shoes for their summer dance class.

Daddy bath time!

All ready for their dance class!

They love their teacher, Miss Erin.

The next day at church we had an ice cream social after church.

The next week, PJ left to go to California for a work trip and the girls were in Gymnastics camp.

We got into the habit that, when I would pick them up, I would either bring them a treat or take them to get a treat. So, we went to the "ice cream store" known as Sonic.

PJ won tickets to go to a classical piano concert while at Apple in Cupertino. Here, he is in the Apple theatre where Apple makes all of their big announcements.

Outside the Apple headquarters in Cupertino.

Happy Father's Day to PJ!

Miss Erin does her dance classes out of her clubhouse in her neighborhood and there are really nice walking paths for PJ and I to walk on.

After dance, the girls joined us one day.

Off to the park!

I picked up the monkeys in the barrel game. Lilly mostly wanted to play with the monkeys however.

Making cookies!

Continuing with our "Fun in the kitchen" theme for preschool, the girls made some aprons.

And the sun

Play date with Melody!

Playdates result in exhausted kiddos.

The next day for playgroup, we were invited to a pool party where Queen Elsa showed up!

Wendy was in heaven

We made sand (Nilla Wafers and Oreo cookies crushed up on top of Vanilla Pudding)

Chilling out after church one day.

Having lunch at Chik-fil-a and waiting out a rainstorm.

Thank you for shopping at Walmart!

Lilly enjoying an ice cream cone.

And Wendy and Lilly enjoying each other. They really do love each other! (Most times...)

The grande finale for "fun the kitchen" was making our very own bugs out of icing and candy and making a Graham Cracker tent.

How do you beat preschool full of candy!?

Another day, we went back to Apple to have a princess lunch with PJ.

Kelly was in town to celebrate Lilly's birthday!

She got the girls a donut maker and made some donuts with them.

I'm not sure how the wall walking started...

But the girls are quite obsessed with it.

We have been watching America's Got Talent so Wendy grabbed her microphone and pretends to compete as well. It's always a yes from me!

Happy 11th Anniversary!

PJ was off to work and the girls can't let him leave without a couple hugs and kisses.

Once he left, we got busy making Lilly's cupcakes for her birthday party.

Sheep and pig tails!

And I got busy making mine and PJ's anniversary dinner. First things first, cheesecake!

I also made Osso Buco with a parmesan risotto.

I decorated the dining room table and made a cheese board with some herbed goat cheese, bleu cheese, and manchego cheese with appropriate pairings.

Welcome to Chez Mitchell!

PJ gives it a thumbs up.

The next day the girls were up bright and early to wait for the animals to come.

Lilly had a petting zoo for her 3rd birthday. She loves animals and loved being able to pet and play with all of these!

We had a low key snack table complete with "Chicken feed" (Chex Mix), "Tractor Tires" (Oreos), and "Hay bales" (Rice Krispie Treats), as well as a Vegetable Garden. The kiddos got to take a hat and handkerchief home.

Happy Birthday Lilly!

When the kiddos were eating their cupcakes, I took a moment to have some time with the animals too. The bunnies were so soft!

Petting the lizard.

Happy Birthday Lilly!

Once the party was packed up and we had cooled off, PJ took the girls back outside for a bike ride.

Then we met up with some friends at a burger restaurant called Hat Creek.

On to Sunday for Lilly's official birthday (She kept saying "But where are the animals!?")

Wendy got a little something too. She was having a hard time seeing all these packages delivered for Lilly's Birthday but handled the actual party like a champ. Birthdays are a big deal with this one so, I set some presents aside for her to open too.

Lilly was thrilled with her presents too!

A microphone/karaoke machine!

Lilly's potty trophy!

What's a birthday without tradition!?

We have already put the microphones to good use. What a great (and busy) month!
