W&L October 2019

October brought us much cooler mornings and the opportunity to get outside a little more without fear of dying from heat exhaustion. Lilly and I went with some friends to ride around the park.

Capturing a rare still moment with this one.

When Lilly was in school but Wendy was out, I also took Wendy to the park to ride around. She liked to stop at each exercise machine to do her "exercises".

During an outing with PJ, Lilly fell asleep in the car. She has a knack for falling asleep right before we get places.
Wendy performing as Princess Anna.

Taking turns posing with our ghosts.

We went on an evening walk to look at some Halloween decorations and Lilly was scared so Wendy held her hand. It was the sweetest thing!

They love checking out the big spider!

Baxter living his best life.

Lilly loves when we're in the car waiting for Wendy at school pick up and I open the sunroof. Such simple pleasures!

Cool kid Lilly never ceases to impress.

Wendy was having a birthday party with her Barbies for one of the kiddo Barbies. I was impressed by her set up!

On another Friday when Wendy was out of school but Lilly was at school, we walked through the neighborhood in some blustery weather to Starbucks to get some treats. She loves their cake pops!

Lilly being... Lilly..

Getting suited up to go to the Pumpkin Farm!

The farm was huge and was connected by this "tunnel".

Wendy and Lilly had to stop and take pictures with each cut out. They were pretty cute though.

Petting the goats. The goats just wanted food.

Into the corn maze we go! We started off all together.

Then Lilly went one way and Wendy went the other. PJ followed Lilly, I followed Wendy.

Wendy and I got to the bell first.

Lilly was ready to give up. She didn't seem to understand she had to walk to get out.

She eventually made it though.

Off to the jumping pillow!

Finally some food for the goats.

Barrel rides!

Right at the end of our visit, a woman came up and said we could have her free ticket to flower picking. Lilly had been begging to go pick the flowers. But after she picked one, she was ready to leave.

It was a fun but exhausting day had by all!

On Columbus Day, I tried to teach the girls about the discovery of America and had them do a painting craft.

While we waited for the paint to dry, we took a trip to Costco.

Lilly and her daddy!

At a local Italian place, there was another wood cut out that Lilly couldn't resist.

Wendy had some cavities to get filled so she got to have nitrous oxide and a movie while the dentist worked. She was a champ!
Lilly being not creepy at all...

The finished Columbus Day crafts: boats sailing across the ocean.

One day while the girls were at school and I was in the shower, I heard a banging sound. When I finally got dressed, I went outside to find Baxter trying to rip the gutter off the side of the house. My best guess is a critter ran up there and Baxter was determined to eat it. Luckily, a replacement gutter from Lowe's was only $12.

My project for the month of October was to redo the office. I love how it turned out! We now have a double desk so PJ and I don't have to share a desk.

And we traded the fold out couch for a futon.

On another Friday when Wendy was off school, we went on a hike. She made it almost the whole 3 miles, I carried her for maybe the last 1/2 mile.

Getting crafty with my mom's group.

While shopping at Lowe's, Wendy had some fun with the werewolf on display.

Getting back into the car with the replacement gutter was apparently a challenge.

Prepping for family photos!

We even brought Baxter along this year. Doesn't he look handsome!

This bridge is just down the hill from PJ's work and is a beautiful backdrop.

Wendy was able to participate in the children's program at church. Her line was "Jesus grew and was strong and straight and true". She recited it without any help from her teacher and she sand all the songs wonderfully. We are so proud of her!

She got to go on a bike ride afterwards.

Lilly scooted along too.

Nighttime picnic.

More fun in the sunroof.

My friend hosted book club and I was so impressed with the display!

I took Wendy to get her first manicure (the technician just painted her nails). Wendy was so pleased!

Working on Wendy's Halloween costume.

And make up.

And Lilly's witch make up.

Getting our nails Halloween ready.

And there she is! The candy house from Hansel and Gretel.

Lilly insisted on being a witch this year so we planned all of our costumes around her. I was worried Wendy wouldn't go for it until I told her we could glue candy all over her. Then she was happy as a clam!

Halloween 2019

Lilly was a little grumpy this evening but PJ found small ways to cheer her up. Like playing with a skeleton dog.

Wendy won some Vampire teeth at a booth at the trunk or treat.

Wendy tried to play the "eat the donut off the string" game but her mouth wasn't quite big enough to take a bite out of the donut. She got a donut out of it either way though.

Lilly was not happy.

A new day, a new Lilly. Here, the girls are putting on a concert for me.

It must be exhausting to be three.

On actual Halloween, Lilly wanted to dress up like a cat by day.

And was all too happy to be back in her witch costume by night.

She had a hard time keeping up with Wendy and the other big kids as they ran from house to house.

Wendy was in hog heaven!

Until the sun went down and it got chilly fast.

We ended the night with coats and at the spider house. Happy Halloween everyone!
