W&L May 2020

One of our last "runs" together before it started getting too hot in the morning. She was a pro!

With all her riding and playing, her legs took quite the beating!

Another morning surprise: waking up to Lilly in the bed.

Family bike ride! (PJ is taking the picture)

She loves riding her bike!

The ingenuity and complete disaster that is having two little girls. If you notice, their stuffed animals are sitting in "chairs" and I'm pretty sure Wendy is hosting a birthday party for her friends.

Daddy ride. I think this is one of the last long bike rides they went on. Close to 7 miles!

Wendy learned how to jump rope!

A new swim suit for Wendy- she was pretty excited! Too bad the pools aren't open yet...

Cinco de Mayo! We had to break up the monotony of quarantine so we had a Cinco de Mayo party.

Complete with pin the tail on the horsey.

Mama puedo? (momma may I?)

And a pinata!!

PJ had the last whack at it and the candy flew everywhere!

Later on in the week, Lilly's teacher dropped off her school work and some other goodies.

Lilly was so excited!

We received permission to play on the preschool playground so we snuck on over there one afternoon to let the girls play on a playground for the first time in months!

Lilly loves Chik-fil-a nuggets but doesn't eat them all at once. Baxter has learned that if he just holds out for bath time, the extra nuggets will be unattended. This is me asking him where the nuggets went??

PJ tried to make Mother's Day special for me especially since we've been in quarantine with no playdates, parks, babysitters, etc... to help entertain the kids. So I was treated with breakfast in bed!

And a sweet present and some flowers downstairs.

I love reading their perception of me!

I had a rough night of sleep but still wanted to get in my Mother's Day picture with my girls!

Then we went on a hike in hopes of finding water to swim in.

There was no water but the girls still had fun!

We all had fun :).

Then PJ asked if I would cut his hair once we were home. I dusted off our old clippers set and went to work!

I thought it looked pretty good for a non professional!

Later on that week, I decided we had to try to get out of the house. The girls have been receiving a quarter each time Lilly keeps her bed dry at night so they had some money to spend. We donned our masks and went to the Dollar Store. It was so nice to see inside a building other than our house!

The girls also had fun playing in the rain.

The girls have started playing with Baxter a lot more. I think he likes it?

Bike ride with the daddio!

A belated Mother's Day gift for me- I love it!

Morning snuggles with me this time.

Walks around the neighborhood.

Walks around the park!

I decided to get the girls back in the kitchen with this braided breadstick recipe. It proved much harder than I thought it was going to be but the breadsticks tasted good!

I found a neat website that has preprogrammed lessons for preschoolers. The girls seem to enjoy working on school work this way a lot more than doing worksheets!

Riding around the neighborhood.

Lilly loves to shave with Dad.

Preschool graduation! I was so grateful the preschool decided to have a drive through graduation ceremony. Wendy was super excited too.

End of the school year for Lilly too!

They've grown so much!

Wendy standing up through the sunroof for her graduation!

We let Lilly join her too, of course.

All the teachers cheering for Wendy.

Her teacher, Miss Meredith and her kiddo Pearl. They have been so sweet to Wendy! It was bittersweet seeing them and saying bye- for now!

Wendy with some of her friends Audrey and Eliza.

Then we took her to get some lunch at "her" restaurant. She is totally convinced this is her restaurant chain and I'm happy to let her believe it.

PJ installed a remote starter on my car. It took him a whole day but saved us a couple hundred dollars! We kept coming out to check on him and the girls just kept accusing him of breaking my car.

Some friends invited me out for a group bike ride and we crushed 15 miles! Her boys met up with us half-way through and cheered us on.

Photo session with Lilly!

The park finally opened up and the girls had fun playing on the exercise equipment.

How Lilly wanted to relax once we were back.

The last day of May a friend invited us over for an outdoor playdate! It was so much fun and I think healing for the girls to finally be around a friend.

Here we come summer!
