W&L September 2021

Labor Day Weekend, we took the girls to a place called "Main Event" and introduced them to Laser Tag!

The first round of Laser Tag, Lilly was not a fan of but it was just our family in there. We shifted gears and went over to the bowling lanes and it was a hit!

Wendy bowling...

PJ bowling...

Me bowling! I think Lilly ended up winning which she was pretty excited about.

Next we checked out glow-in-the-dark mini golf!

The displays were pretty cool!

Trying out Laser Tag one more time! This time there was a whole group of people going in.

Lilly did not care for it so after about 5 minutes, PJ sat out with her. Wendy loved it! So she and PJ played one more round before we left.

Trying on our Halloween costumes!

Dentist appointments!

We were able to dog sit our friend's doggo and she needed hugs throughout the day. She told us this by stepping up into our laps and sticking her face in our face. So sweet!

She's a big dog/puppy who doesn't realize she's as big as she is so the kiddos get a little fearful of her. This was a sweet moment where she was calm so Wendy was able to pet her.

Bubble baths are still a thing!

It took running 6 miles with Coco to wear her out.

One of our last pool days of the season!

Evening walks around the neighborhood.

It was PJ's turn to take Coco out so he rode his bike with her. She hated it but at least she was able to get some energy out!

Sunbathing dogs- so cute!

School picture day! I had volunteered to help the PTA the morning of picture day so I was trying to make sure their hair would look good and be not too hard for PJ to fix. I braided the girls hair so it would be curly in the morning when they took it out. They loved the braids though!

A friend PJ found one night while putting out the trash.

Checking the mail!

My friend makes these amazing shirts so Wendy posed for me so I could snap a pic and send it to my friend.

Another friend reached out and asked if I would do baking classes with her son. Here, we are making macarons!

Yet another friend invited PJ and I out on their boat for a sunset boat ride and dinner.

Almost everyone got in the river to bob for a little bit.

Watching Lilly at gymnastics!

Playing at the park.

Our last swim of the season was a bit chilly! But we were happy to celebrate one of Lilly's best friends.

PJ and I were able to snag a temple session after almost two years of not being able to go to the temple due to the pandemic!

Wendy gave a talk in children's church- she did great! and taught about Choosing the Right.

On my actual birthday, PJ took some time off work to go on a hike with me!

It was a beautiful trail and nice to chat with him for a while.

My birthday cake made by a local baker- it was so yummy!

W&L August 2021

Wendy is in the early stages of reading so I'm trying to remember to include her in our family Scripture study. She does a great job!

Back to school shopping means the girls get to hang out with each of us, separately. Lilly got to hang out with PJ (while I took Wendy BTS shopping) and picked up this super pink leotard!

She also got a super cool LOL set.

We took a day to go to Schlitterbahn one last time and these were the only pictures we got (at the end of the day on the ride home). Notice Lilly's half-eaten burger she's holding while sleeping.

Wendy NEVER falls asleep in the car! I guess a day out in the sun was the magic trick!

Lilly's turn with me to go back to school shopping and she picked out this LOL. She was very focused as she tried to get it open while we ate lunch.

Trying to teach the girls to keep a record of their own in their journals. Lilly's not quite writing yet so we tried to show how her day went with stickers.

Partying in the car!

I don't know if I can explain how unexpected these scenes in Lilly's room are when we check on her at night. It's completely quiet and then as we go upstairs to go to bed, we find quite the scene. This night, she got the step ladder out, placed her got-to-go flamingo at the top, and fell asleep with her umbrella opened over her. I hope it helps you sleep well little one!

I have recently been asked to help the children's ministry leader by accompanying her on the piano. One day while I was practicing, Wendy came over and sang with me!

Trying to teach the kiddos responsibility so we came up with these "TO-DO" Charts. We told them if they do everything they're supposed to in a week, they get a tally. When they get 4 tallies, they get a toy/reward of their choosing! Wendy chose chocolate/robucks to work towards and Lilly chose a ballerina Barbie to work towards.

Back to school hair cuts! (they wouldn't let me take a before/after)

Meet the teacher! Masks are required at school but I found these see-through masks so at least people could see the girls' faces.

It was so nice to actually go inside the school and meet the teachers!

Saying "goodbye" to the kindergarten playground now that she's a first grader!

Back to School pictures! Wendy going into 1st Grade.

Lilly going into Kindergarten.

They really are the best of friends *most* times!

Celebrating one Friday with some Gelato!

And playing at the playground.

When we said "time to go", these were the responses we got!

Just a Saturday morning with Lilly swinging in her jammies...

We are also always surprised to find pictures Lilly has taken on our phones. This is the view Lilly had during church one day.

A friend from Mars Hill College (now University) happened to be in town so we had him over for dinner! It was so fun to catch up!

PJ's birthday! His birthday was on a Thursday this year so he took off work on Wednesday and he and I went to go see Jungle Cruise. We were the only ones in the theatre! I also made him his favorite cake- Cheesecake. Happy Birthday PJammin!

Here it is! Proof that Lilly worked for four weeks doing her "to-do" chart! She earned this Ballerina Barbie. Now to set the goal for the next thing!

Playing at a church party.

There was face painting!

And lollipops. And a ton of other games.

The girls are growing up and it can be fun to experience new age-appropriate things with them. But it was also heart warming to see them working together to hang up these Halloween clings I got from the store one day. Thank you for decorating the house and for being best of friends!
