14 Months!

Happy Spring! 

We are working on redoing the bathroom for all our guests coming out for Lilly's birth and Wendy has enjoyed helping her daddy bang things around. In case you can't see it, her outfit says "Daddy's Girl". 

This was an outfit PJ picked out for Wendy to wear on Saturday. I just had to snap a picture!

Wendy likes to "walk" Baxter around the house. He mostly obliges.

With the weather getting nicer we have started venturing outside more. 

It's hard to get a good picture of Wendy because she's always exploring and finding things to put in her mouth.

One day we decided to have lunch at Chick-fil-a. We played in the play place and then shared some lunch. I think she approves. 

With the sun not going down until closer to 9:00, we've started going on walks after dinner as well.

We stopped following Wendy and she just wandered off on her own talking to herself. 

We started calling her and she started to come back towards us, laughing like we played a joke on her.

Someone dropped off a gift at our door with balloons attached and Wendy could not stop playing with them. 

Baxter decided to get in on the action. 

Bike riding is getting pretty challenging for me, but Wendy enjoyed an evening family bike ride one night. With her little lovie to keep her company of course.

With the weather being nicer we have also been going to the park more often. Wendy is getting really good at climbing up the stairs.

There's a park near PJ's work we like to go to every once and a while to give PJ a break from work. This day Wendy kept picking up gum drops and handing them to PJ. 

PJ would say "Thank you!" and then throw them behind his back.

She's starting to like slides and will go down them with little to no help. 

Wendy thinks it is so funny to crawl through this tunnel with holes and have you peek in. 

Which of course makes for a cute picture too... 

Eventually she started asking for food by signing "more". 

With it being warmer, we've been able to put Wendy in some cute spring dresses for church. 

Church has also become more interesting with her being more mobile and usually interfering with one of her naps. One Sunday she found  a room full of toys in which the worship service was being projected in. We decided to go with it. 

We have one of these at home but she decided the way she was going to play with it was to crawl inside.

Another cute new dress from great-grandma. We have to hold her in order to get her to stay still long enough to take a picture so excuse PJ's face....

Now for Easter Sunday! I bought this dress as soon as I saw it at the store because I thought it was so cute. She received many complements as well :). 

We started off the day with Easter baskets and Wendy got this huge ball with hers. 

She loves balls!

The Easter bunny was very generous to us. 

My basket full of kit kats and chips. 

PJ's basket sans the diet coke. He ate that bunny in probably 10 minutes flat.

And of course Baxter's gifts!

We waited most of the day for it to be nice enough outside to go "hide" the eggs but the weather never quite cooperated. So we decided to have the "hunt" inside after Wendy's nap. 

As soon as she saw the eggs, she knew what was up. 

We had practiced putting the eggs in the basket and then she would open them but this time she went straight to trying to open them. There was one jelly bean in each egg. 

This was when I gave up trying to get her to put the eggs in the basket first before opening them. I had put some in the basket but she was only concerned about getting those jelly beans out of the eggs!

Then came the cooking of Easter dinner. Admittedly, I made the cupcakes in advance. Both Wendy and Baxter helped clean off the mixing tool. 

The aftermath. 

We were able to have a feast of ham, green bean casserole, corn bread, and deviled eggs. 

Vanilla cupcakes topped with lemon curd and a strawberry whipped cream for dessert!

Wendy had her own plate complete with her own cornbread!

Wendy has also started eating with utensils at dinner. 

This was one of the first times she was able to scoop food up with the utensil and put it in her mouth without it falling off. 

Not as fast of a method but a much more grown up way of eating food!

Finally, PJ rounded off the month by going on a 70 mile bike ride. Wendy kissed him good bye as he left. 

And was asleep by the time he got back. He did it!
