W&L August 2020

Wendy and Lilly after they got out from dance class. Lilly was not taking pictures at this time. 

I decided to get in on the dancing and get myself some tap shoes. Wendy wanted to give me a class so I let her teach away!

Still doing church from home. The girls are mostly reverent. 

We always check on the girls when we come upstairs to go to bed. I started finding Lilly in strange positions and, in this case, locations. Here she is sleeping on her floor in her sleeping bag in front of her mirror. Luckily she doesn't wake up when I move her back to her bed but I couldn't help but snap a picture. 

The next night I found her in her bed but with her lamp on.

Another night completely passed out but with her lamp on. 

We thought we were having visitors so we booked a reservation at the San Antonio Zoo. They were offering drive through tours of the zoo!

It was a unique experience but the girls wanted to be able to walk through the zoo. Next time!

Wendy and Lilly got to stand up through the sun roof to check out the animals. 

Alligators!

Flamingos! We didn't see a whole lot of big animals (it was hot!) but we saw a ton of birds and smaller animals. The girls said it was fun so we're counting it as a success!

We were also close to Buccees so we stopped by for a potty break and a few snacks. Lilly was concerned because Buccee now has a mask on!

But she cozied up for a picture nonetheless.

When I grill outside, the girls like to ask for pushes on the swing. Here's Lilly about to fly over the fence!

Happy Birthday PJ! The girls were at gymnastics camp so he and I headed out for a bike ride.

I also got my homeschool materials which has nothing to do with PJ's birthday but I was excited to get them all the same!

We decided to have our treats before dinner. Make a wish!

And then SURPRISE! I didn't want PJ to be alone for his birthday so I got a few of our friends together to have dinner with. 

The girls loved the show! Wendy was giggling the whole time. 

Our Chef (Jose...) was very entertaining and told PJ he loved him. 

Then gave him his rice with a match in it as though it was his birthday cake. 

He later got a real birthday treat and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday to him. Happy birthday bud!

We ventured out to go caving! Here the girls are eating ice cream, watching people walk in and out of the cave (below them).

Lilly must have had so much fun, I found her passed out like this. With her lamp on, of course.

Lilly said I was allowed "one picture" so this is her back to school pic. 

I took the kiddos to the YMCA so Lilly could play in child watch while I did Wendy's lesson with her.

Then they played on the playground until it got to be too hot. 

I'm also teaching Wendy how to cross stitch. 

The girls are also still doing gymnastics classes. 

And proof that no good deed goes unpunished. I was making a cake for a friend's birthday in a sheet pan and the sheet pan was too heavy when I was taking it out of the oven and the whole cake slid out of the pan. I was so upset but I re-did the batter and made cupcakes instead. They were delivered a day late but well received all the same!

Another day of homeschool at the playground!

The girls built this intricate train track. I was genuinely impressed!

The neighbor who lives behind us is a boy just older than Wendy. When he jumps on his trampoline, the girls like to climb the tree to talk to him. We think it is so cute! Quarantine playdates...

Another day of school...

I was making pizza dough and PJ spilled some sugar. Lilly said she would clean it up and when we turned around, she was licking it off the counter. Whatever works!

The pizza was good anyway! Lilly made pizza with cheddar cheese, Wendy made pizza with mozzarella cheese and bell peppers and olives on top, and I made a pizza with basil pesto topped with parmegiano, reggiano, mozzarella, tomato slices, and bacon. 

I got home from a girls night and walked into the office to talk to PJ and found Lilly asleep on the couch instead. Again, she did not wake up when I picked her up to take her upstairs and lay her in her bed but PJ was completely oblivious to her having left her room! We have to keep a closer eye on this girl!

Lilly in child watch at the YMCA. I thought she would enjoy having the teacher all to herself and all the toys all to herself but she has put up a pretty big fight about going. So now we just do school at home while Lilly plays by herself until she starts preschool. 

The girls love vending machines so we brought some quarters to get a treat since it was Friday!

Oh, and ice cream too :P 

Off to visit a friend and Wendy wanted to bring her flowers. So sweet!

Sometimes it feels like the kids are up earlier and earlier with each passing day. By 8:00, the girls were dressed and ready to play so PJ and Wendy rode bikes.

Dentist visit!

Even though the girls' old preschool is not opening this year, the director told us we could come play on the playground any time. To our delight, she also welcomed us in and let us play with the toys in the lobby.

Our friend came to our driveway and pretended to be the ice cream truck but really they gave us ice cream for free! The girls were thrilled!

We have been working on Wendy's piano playing as well.

These are pictures from the girls' last dance camp of the summer. The theme was "Ballerina Bake Shoppe" and they got to make treats each day and learned some super cute dances!
