Anniversary Cruise 2018

We are so thankful to Pop and Mimi for coming during Heather's only break from school to watch the kids so PJ and I could celebrate our 10 year Anniversary! The girls helped me pick out some special gifts for them.

Vacation time!

The first thing the girls did was ask Pop for some of his candy.

Bye girls! See ya in a week!

Austin isn't the best representation of the state of Texas so I was pretty tickled when we were about an hour away from Austin and saw a cattle truck. God bless Texas!

Driving through Houston for the first time.

Welcome to Galveston!

The port was pretty underwhelming. We kept checking to make sure we were in the right place. No bells and whistles here!

Waiting in line for two hours and we still had a ways to go.

All these people!!

Finally on the ship! Running away from the casino as fast as we can.

Hellooo Relaxation!

Ready to go pool side!

But we had to go to our Muster Stations for the presentation on how to get off the ship if it were to start sinking. Our station was in the dining room so the atmosphere was beautiful!

But I was sick of waiting.

While I was at the spa, PJ watched the boat pull away from the land on our balcony.

Sun rise over the Gulf!

The balcony was so worth it.

And what a surprise that our room steward had decorated our room for us once we told him it was our 10 year Anniversary. He said all he could find was "Just Married" decorations but I loved it either way.

Pool side!

Enjoying the balcony once again.

The second night was Captain's dinner so we got all fancy and our waiter surprised us with a Happy Anniversary dessert!

Only thing is, PJ had already ordered a couple desserts...

Back to our room to call the girls and we find a little friend waiting for us!

I was amazed by the stars at sea. It's been so long since I've seen stars so vibrant!

Sun rise on morning 3.

Off to Cozumel!

Such a huge ship.

A catamaran picked us up dock side and took us snorkeling and to a private beach to play for a couple hours.

PJ was being a little rebellious while we were waiting to get on the catamaran.

Suited up to get in the water.

Such a fun experience!

If you look really closely, you can see me sliding on the big slide.

View from our balcony. Cozumel treated us very well.

Casual dinner night!

And more decorations for our anniversary!

The kids splash zone. We kept thinking Wendy and Lilly would love it!

We ventured up to the chapel.

I was actually kind of sad to see these pamphlets. All a little ironic.

The next port of call was Grand Caymen. Grand Caymen was not so fun.

It was a tender port so our big ship was too big to take us all the way to the dock so little boats had to come out and pick us up from the boat.

Then from there, we walked through town to get on another boat to take us out to the submarine. All this took about 2 hours.

Then we descended into the submarine.

I was less than thrilled by this point.

But I did have my own window to look out for sea creatures.

This was our guide to help us identify the fish and coral.

PJ got pretty sea sick.

It was pretty tight quarters!

But the views were pretty cool. We thought that rectangular object closest to us looked like a secret treasure chest.

Trying to get a good picture.

Fish fish galore!

Pretty blue fish.

So much coral!

When we came back to the surface, there were a lot of bubbles

Bye submarine!

Finally back on the ship and ready for Tropical Night in the restaurant.

All the waiters putting on a show for us. They danced the macarena and Gangham Style.

We decided to take an elevator up to the buffet to get some midnight snacks and it was empty! Such a rare occurance.

We returned to our room to find this little guy!

The next day brought us to Jamaica. It was our favorite port!

Our bus ride to Adventure Falls.

Some old plantation homes in Jamaica.

Getting ready to zip line!

I was once again a little sick of the standing around and waiting. Once again, it had taken us two hours to get to this point.

But it was really fun after we got started!

Ya Mon!

A little Irie.

"Canopy tour Survivor"

This was the next to last platform and it was very high off the ground.

Then, after spending about an hour and a half zip lining, we got to cool off in a naturally fed spring pool.

After some Jerk Chicken, we got back on the bus, bought the girls some souvenirs, and got back on the ship to get ready for dinner.

Posing with the horse outside our room.

Some professional pictures of the formal nights on board.

And then back to the room for Birthday surprises for PJ!

The monkey was his favorite.

Last sunrise from our balcony.

Getting ready to go to the gym.

We worked out every day!

We finally got to go to the towel folding demonstration. The things they created were so cool!

I had been waiting all week for it.

Some fancy table in the dining room. Maybe the chef's table?

We decided to go on the Galley tour where we were told some stats about the food on board and got to see the kitchen where it's all prepared.

Look at this amazing display!

I thought this guy's shirt was pretty funny.

Mmmm Dessert!

Our tour guide: Sous Chef Jeff.

I was able to finish coloring this picture while on board. It was so peaceful to sit on our balcony, listen to the water, and feel the sea breeze.

Our final dinner.

With a surprise dessert for PJ's birthday!

Even the head waiter got in on singing him Happy Birthday.

Make your wish!

The waiters who took care of us each night.

Special cupcake surprise waiting for PJ in our room. PJ ate one before I could snap a picture.

I thought this picture was so weird/funny. All the artwork on Liberty of the Seas was a little wild.

Back to Galveston. What a welcome.

And home to give the girls their souvenirs! PJ's trying to help Lilly listen to the sea shell to see if she hears the ocean. I had the girls dresses shoved up my shirt so it could be a surprise to them. They also got sea shells from the beach and some special "hand carved" animal statues.

Happy Sailing!
