W&L December 2019

December found us getting a lot of projects done and crafting to save money. I took this old fence slat I found in the garage...

And turned it into this Christmas sign.

Lilly and I decided to take a walk to a store that is maybe a half a mile away from our house and she lost her motivation pretty quickly. She wanted these Oreos so I used them to bribe her to walk. She did pretty good, all things considered!
We were able to go to PJ's work party at the Bullock Texas History Museum.

His company rented out the whole museum so, after we ate and visited, we were able to walk around the museum at our leisure to see the various exhibits.

We had a great time! And found this huge buffalo!

This was the "Come and Take it" exhibit where Texans won against the Mexican army in trying to declare their independence from Mexico. I love that Texan spirit!

Lilly doesn't usually nap but sometimes she'll curl up on your lap to take a bit of a power nap. I love it when she does!

Wendy got to bring home "Bobby Bear" from preschool (their version of a class pet). He fit right in with Strawberry and Penny the Penguin.

Wendy was excited to take him everywhere we went over the weekend. But also quickly grew bored of him.

Another thing I created for a white elephant party. An original canvas.

With the help of a friend, I also painted this on wood.

Wendy's last outing with Bobby Bear- to pick up PJ's white elephant gift (oreos).

For my Mop's group, I got to decorate our table for our Christmas Tea. I loved how it turned out!

The gals at my table.

Lilly loved riding on this reindeer before she headed to her class. The kiddos were invited to wear pajamas to class.

Catching her sleeping again that evening.

One night, I was also able to host my MOPs Christmas party at our house. I provided hot chocolate, the rest of the ladies brought the rest of the party.

On another day, PJ created a fort for Wendy. Wendy was so proud!

Wendy helping PJ wrap Christmas presents.

Lilly doing her dance moves before church one Sunday.

Posing with the Christmas trees.

A rare candid moment of Wendy.

PJ's ugly Christmas Sweater party with his coworkers (they met at a restaurant with a playground at it).

Wendy got Lilly all dressed up and then directed her to sit on the stairs while Wendy performed. The shenanigans these two get into!!

Lilly's Christmas presentation at preschool.

Lilly's class with a few others singing cute Christmas songs to all the parents.

Lilly was not having it for some reason and barely sang a song.

After a cookie, she obliged us with a picture.

Lilly's little friend YaYa.

And her teacher Ms. Kim. We were trying to get her to smile but this was the best we could do!

The next day, Lilly joined us in the audience as it was Wendy's Christmas Presentation at preschool.

We passed the time making silly faces with her.

Here comes Wendy!

Wendy's class as well as 5-6 other classes performing.

She was in it to win it!

But still neither wanted to take pictures with us. You think we might take too many pictures??

Wendy's little friend Melody.

Once school was all wrapped up for the 2019 year, we had the opportunity to babysit our friend Josie.

Wendy was a huge help and loved to hold Josie and keep her company. Lilly kept saying Josie was too loud and covered her ears to try to drown out the crying.

We made this craft with everyone. I was a little distracted and misspelled "Mistletoes" but the girls had fun having their feet painted.

Then they got to make their own pizzas for dinner.

The next day we learned about Hanukkah and practiced writing the letter "H". Lilly still sings the "dreidel song".

The girls helped out vacuuming the floor.

And Baxter got a gift from a neighbor.

We also made latkes to finish out learning about Hanukkah.

Our reactions.

On Christmas Eve, the girls got their Christmas Eve boxes complete with pajamas, chocolate milk (they do not like hot chocolate) and pop corn. Lilly changed right in to hers and did not take them off until she took a bath the following night.

Wendy was excited but more so about the chocolate milk.

We practiced the letter "J" for Jesus and Joseph.

A lovely Texas December day brought us to the park where Lilly wanted to be buried in the sand.

The girls coming downstairs on Christmas morning.

And ripping in to their presents.

The parents got one too!

Playing with their toys. They agreed to trade out the dress up stuff to put all their new toys in the playroom.

Cozying up with PJ's new electric blanket.

Aftermath of Christmas.

On another day, the girls practiced their math skills by following recipes for sandwiches for lunch. They loved the sandwich shop and asked if they could play it more often!

I finally finished Lilly's quilt.

And took Wendy to the indoor pool at the YMCA. I tried to come up with lesson plans for our break to keep us entertained but after two weeks off school, the pool it is!

Lilly was a little jealous so I brought her to swim later in the day.

Lilly's last day going to nursery at church!

Wendy helping a friend up a slide at Locomotion.

Lilly playing dress up at Locomotion.

PJ fixed the pit! When we first moved in, the previous owners had put in a koi pond. We tried to make it work in various stages but ended up just filling it in. It became an eyesore so we worked together to figure out what to do with it. The girls were thrilled to have a fire pit to roast S'mores over.

A great way to end the year!
