W&L January 2021

 Happy New Year!

Wendy woke up to tooth fairy money for losing a tooth on New Year's Eve. She was so excited!

And immediately wanted to go spend it. Off to the Dollar Store to buy some treasures!

Wendy loves to find her way up a tree!

I got to do my first custom order which were these little paint pallets for a birthday party!

Home from school with nothing to do so it was makeover time!

Lilly wanted pictures drawn on her face as part o her makeover.

Wendy has been more and more interested in earning money so she will pick up Baxter's poop from time to time as a way to earn some money. She washes her hands when she gets done!

Out on a nature walk.

A friend came over and we had a late night cooking session to try to unlock the mysteries of the macaron. I still hate making them but these tasted pretty good!

Lilly was back to school first so, once we dropped her off, I took Wendy and a friend to the Wildflower Center to play for the day.

They had a blast!

Wendy and her friend built this lean-to all by themselves!

Checking in on PJ one day and this is how I found him. Sometimes you just need a mid-work nap!

Lilly was desperately looking for all of her "special things". I asked her multiple questions about what it looked like etc... and we finally found this water bottle stuffed with all her "special things". Gotta love our little hoarder!

On Friday's Wendy has school but Lilly doesn't so I thought we should pass the time by getting a mani/pedi! She was in heaven and can't wait to go back.

Dinner date with friends!

Petting zoo for a friend's birthday party.

Wendy adventuring in a piece of woods near our house.

Isn't this how you dress when it's snowing?!

We got some pretty good ground cover and it melted the next day. Just the way I like snow days.

We did not tell them to do this....

The reality of snow- it's cold! Here's Lilly warming up with a space heater in the garage.

She made herself a little snow-beach.

Making snow cones and Wendy chose yellow for hers....

Giving Wendy a go to cut PJ's hair!

One morning while waiting to take Lilly to school, I found her watching TV like this. I think she was pretending this mat was her yoga mat. Whatever floats your boat kiddo!

We had a friend re-tile the girls bathroom and I love the new tile!

If the girls find their Easter egg baskets, Easter egg hunts commence. I try to hide them well but they always seem to find them.

....Lilly.

We told the girls one night if we could get the house cleaned we would take them out to fancy dinner. They helped out really well so we all put on our Sunday best and had a terrific dinner.

Playing with friends at a park close-by.

I wake Wendy up at 7:00 every school day to be able to get her to school on time. It never fails, the day school gets cancelled or on the weekends she's up at 6:30. This morning she decided she was going to be my teacher and I needed to learn my letters.

The girls had off school for Martin Luther King Jr's birthday so we took them to San Antonio! Here we at the Ripley's! Believe it or not museum.

Each of us taking a turn being an astronaut.

The headless chicken.

Lilly was terrified of this tunnel at the end. I scooped her up and ran through it and she screamed the whole time.

On the riverwalk.

Watching a 4-d movie for the (girl's) first time!

More riverwalk fun.

Everyone was relieved when we could sit and have a boat take us around the river as opposed to walk around it.

Exploring the Lego store!

And ending the night with a great restaurant on the river. I told Wendy we could do a silly picture only if we did one good one.

I think we delivered.

After our dinner we had to make sure the ducks had some dinner too.

Playing at the forbidden playgrounds! Wendy's school has 5 playgrounds designated for each grade but on the weekends the schools allow people to come play on the playgrounds. The kids had so much fun playing on the playgrounds reserved for the older kids.

Contemplative Baxter.

PJ trying to disguise himself to scare the girls.

Then it was Wendy's turn for a mani/pedi! I'm not sure if she enjoyed the process but she liked her nails at the end!

Lilly tucked in with all of her animals tucked in too.

Finally the benefit of at home church- the girls can participate! They love when it is their turn to give talks (Even though they usually say the same thing every time). I like when they participate too.
