W&L February 2021

Just Baxter waiting for PJ to get back from his bike ride.  He's so used to having us home, he doesn't know what to do when we leave!

The set up for Wendy's birthday this year. We had a few friends over and ordered pizza. Probably the least effort I have put in to one of her birthday parties since she's been born and I think she had a blast!

Pizza picnic!

Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting.  Also an M&M surprise inside!

Opening presents!

The kids played outside until the sun went down and then they played inside for another hour until the parents came to get them.

A few days later we had the family celebration and Wendy got to open her presents from us.

We also went out to fancy dinner and demolished the dessert!

Our annual cheek kiss picture!

For Wendy's big party, we took her to Six Flags!

We rode as many rides as we could fit in and Wendy had a blast!

The carousel is always a hit.

Wendy loved being able to push the button to make the air planes go up and down.

First family roller coaster! It was a pretty mild roller coaster but we had fun.

In the stalks for you, Wendy!

They loved recognizing the Loony Toon characters throughout the park.

The log ride! Was not a hit. They were not happy they got wet.

Wendy and I split up after lunch to ride the bigger rides. Wonder Woman almost  made Wendy swear off roller coasters forever.

We met back up to finish up on the swings! A day of fun!

Suffice it to say, I made a lot of Valentine Cookies in the first part of February!

PJ nodding off, Lilly enjoying a nose pick.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Besides treats, we had church at home and Wendy led us in our worship songs.

The after math of opening Valentine's treats.

Heart shaped banana pancakes for the kids for dinner!

Cheddar-jalepeno pancakes topped with fried chicken and an over easy egg for the adults. Yum!

And then the snow came.

And came.

And did not melt for a week.

This is a map of the Austin area power outages. The electricity was out all week for those red areas.

We were very blessed that we did not lose electricity and the girls played together really well considering we couldn't leave our house for a week! Here, Wendy is giving Lilly a piano lesson.

I roasted a duck.

Checked on the girls to make sure they had enough blankets (it got down to 7 degrees!)

Lilly in her best snow gear (those would be socks on her hands for gloves...)

And we shoveled snow into our tubs when the water went out for a couple of days so we could flush the toilets. We never had to use it (plenty of water coming from the down spouts) so it was quite a mess to clean out of the tubs but grateful we had it just in case!

My first attempt at home made bread.

Another food storage meal: grilled Hawaiian chicken, broccoli, and rice.

My 2nd attempt at home made bread...

Hamburger and French fries. As you can see, we ate pretty well! We were about a week out of having to break into our freeze-dried food storage. Grateful for our emergency preparedness!

An ice cream treat for the end of the week.

I think I got pretty good at making it!

All the bread rising....

Lilly got a Valentine's Day card from her Sunday school teacher and was so thrilled!

She even slept with it for a couple of nights.

Lilly had a balloon up her dress and climbed into me and PJ's bed one morning. She made sure she got comfortable and then whispered "I'm pregnant". I'm up!

All the laundry needing to be done post snowpocolypse 2021. (Also known as Snovid-21)

We ended the month with Lilly getting one last Valentine from her dear friend Ya-Ya.

She loved it! And I love that February is over :).
