W&L July 2021

July took us to the only place you can go in Texas summers: the pool! Lots of days were spent pool-side.

Wendy found a straw in our pool bag and turned it into a snorkel.

PJ and I celebrated our anniversary in a low-key way this year: Movies!

While we were at the beach, we were able to have our kitchen cabinets painted. It has been an item on our Reno list ever since we moved here!

Drawings of Wendy.

She drew her version of PJ and then wanted to document it.

Trying to get Lilly to ride her bike without training wheels! We converted her bike to a balance bike but it's been too hot to get out and ride often.

Fourth of July! We started off with the small noise-less fireworks.

And then got out the big guns!

This was the first year Lilly did not shrink away from all the noise. She really enjoyed the show!

Wendy helped PJ light some mega fireworks. Run!

Some of the carnage after. Such a good time!

The girls love having the Missionaries over and they wanted to get a picture with some of their biggest fans.

Touring Lockhart when the girls' Grandma came to town and Lilly thought this woman was super fancy and had to get a picture with her.

We also took Grandma to the 45 trail. Lilly rode her balance bike and played on the rocks. Wendy rode her bike beside me while I ran the path. A great time was had by all!

Wendy showing off her monkey bar skills!

Between days at home, the girls also have been able to go to Gymnastics Camp. They have made great friends and learned some cool new skills!

Playing on iPads... with her parasol. Of course!

Wendy got a little reading nook in her room so she could practice reading. She's becoming quite thee reader!

Checking in on Wendy at night. She has a pink lava lamp and I tell her to watch the  bubbles while she tries to fall asleep. It seemed to have worked!

Back to school means scheduling Dr. Checkups!

The girls were worried they were going to have to get shots but there were none needed for their age! They are both super tall for their age.

Cooking day! We made sushi (Wendy's pick)

Wendy gave two thumbs up!

Lilly said it was OK but ate her whole roll.

Next up was pretzel making! (My pick) Both girls loved them.

Finally, donuts! (Lilly's pick) Of course both girls thought the donuts were yummy- of course!

The finished pretzels! They were delicious.

Donuts all decorated! We had a coconut glaze, milk chocolate, and salted caramel to decorate them with.

The girls playing on the playground at their Elementary School.

Back at the pool! No one else was there and I thought it was funny: with the pool all to themselves...

They were playing on thee steps. At least they had fun!

Practicing on her balance bike!

So close to having family bike rides!

Finally, Lilly wanted to earn some money so she succumbed to picking up dog poop in the back yard. It's a dirty job but somebody's got to do it!
