W&L February 2022

Night checks on the girls are one of my favorite parts of the day!

We had a "dusting" of more ice than snow but it was enough for the girls to be excited about it. Our next door neighbors were sweet and took Wendy sledding for a little while. I keep thinking we need to invest in snow gear and talk myself out of it because we live in Texas. Yet every year we get snow!

Wendy requested breakfast in bed for her birthday! So this was her "birthday platter": raspberries, yogurt, cheese, and granola bar (cut up).

Because of the dusting of snow, school was cancelled for two days. So wee had a leisure morning of opening presents and packing a bag....

And then zipped on over to Kalahari! I was so grateful Wendy opted for this "experience" over a birthday party. The weather would have made it so that we probably would have had to cancel her party. But we were able to play all day at Kalahari!

She loved this water tower which was complete with 5 or so slides.

Thumbs up!

Checking out our room (thumbs up!)

While waiting for dinner, PJ took Lilly on some sightseeing around the resort.

I also told Wendy we could get an expensive birthday cake or she could get all the ice cream she wanted while we were at the resort. She opted for ice cream and we got maybe 3 cones total!

Lilly loved the arcade. She started off on the smaller rides like this little pony....

And the toddler carousel ...

Played some whacking games (she's pretty good!)

We ended the night with some spa animal masks in our room!

The kiddos loved their little alcove and they were fascinated by "real" TV (they kept asking us to skip the commercials and we did our best to explain you can't skip them on real TV...)

There was a whole out door section that was closed for the season but we look forward to going back over the summer!

This lobby fountain was really cool too and helped with the waiting (check in/check out)

Our last hoo-rah in the arcade! Lilly moved up to the baby carousel (it moved very slowly...)

And Wendy had a go at some arcade games!

We finally convinced her to go on some of the bigger rides and she was hooked! She opted to keep riding this ride probably 6 times in a row and Wendy and I went to go ride another ride. The ride operator kept asking her "you want to get off?" and she kept saying "I want to go again!"

There was a mirror maze....

Giving the toddler rides another go (the dogs would go up and down as they flew you around)

Lunch time! We all shared this milk shake but Wendy made sure we remembered it was her milkshake ;)

Back home and Wendy unboxed all her Rainbow High dolls!

The next day, Lilly lost her first tooth! 2nd child problems... the tooth fairy was a little late but she was still happy about the whole thing!

My view leading up to Valentine's Day... I had a successful Valentine Cookie Sale but I was happy to see all things hearts leave!

It had been a while since the girls had a sleep over so we asked if they wanted to have one. They giggle a lot and then... all is quiet.

For Valentine's Day, I made a chocolate bundt cake with a salted caramel ganache and topped each slice with Vanilla Bean whipped cream. It was delicious!

Our "fancy" dinner. I made a roast in the crockpot and some Caesar salad.

Lilly opted for a peanut butter sandwich instead...

We planted some new flowers by the house which attracted butterflies!

Wendy kept trying to catch them...

It's hard to make out in this picture but there was a dance party taking place at school pick up one day. Lilly joined in and had a blast!

Baxter is also very patient with the Lilly shenanigans .

We had a teacher work day so Wendy and I took off to go shopping and have lunch. We were the only ones at this little play ground but she loved it!
