W&L June 2022

We started out the month dog sitting our favorite doggie friend: Cocoa!

The girls getting some love from both doggies

Lilly woke up, put on her recital dress, and organized a concert for us!

We have new next door neighbors so we went to work to make cookies for them!

Everyone did a great job decorating the cookie too.

I took the girls to the mall to play in the indoor play place. It hadn't been open for the past two years!

I think they were surprised to find they were too big for everything. They have grown a lot in the last two years!

We had to make sure to get a photo op with "Daddy's Store".

Celebrating birthdays with a friend (and having her tongue dyed blue!)

Green cupcakes are good too!

Wendy and PJ go on bike rides from time to time and have fun adventuring.

Baxter  waiting for PJ to come home...

I had the opportunity to go to a recording studio and record a lullaby album for the kiddos! I loved having my favorite pianist and friend with me during the process too.

We made peanut butter blossoms for all the dads at church for Father's Day.

Getting in one last bike ride before our big trip!

All of our shoes in one shoe bag.

Happy Father's Day, PJ! We made this blanket for him to keep him warm at night.

Having fun trying on costume accessories at Party City.

And we're off! We had the opportunity to go to Georgia for a month which meant a two day road trip.

We brought high tech and low tech entertainment. The iPads were what they chose to play with most of the time but they had books, paper to draw on, and barbies/LOLs to play with.

I think their favorite part were the snacks!

It's things like this that keep you entertained on long road trips!

And after two days of driving, we made it! Home for a month.

PJ had a pretty sweet work from him set up complete with a standing desk.

Lilly loved this huge bunny.

You know you're in the south when: you can buy fireworks in bulk from Costco.

And when you can  have Bojangles!

We were also able to have a family birthday party for Lilly at Chuck-ee-cheese!

Excited to see Chuck-ee!!

Between playing all the games, we were able to have pizza, cake, and dippin dots ice cream!

She also got to grab extra tickets.

And of course got to open presents. I wish we had taken a picture of everyone together. There was just too much going on!

Setting up the slip n slide from Uncle Brad and Aunt Kelley.

The girls were still very much on Texas time so they would wake up an hour earlier than we expected. I would give them extra video time but they had to walk on the treadmill.

Cousin Alex came to play!

Watching the girls' dance recitals.

Playing in the rain! We were able to have it rain just about every day in the evening while we were in Georgia. I love those summer rains!

Playing at a local splash pad.

There was this strange Humpty Dumpty statue in the park where the splash pad was located. The girls loved posing with it though!

Wendy can always find a tree to climb!

There was also a neat amphitheater in the park so the girls put on a show for me.

Lilly riding around on her "birthday scooter". She attached the balloons from her birthday party to this scooter that was in the house and rode around the house for a while.

The girls joined PJ and I for an Anniversary dinner at a local Hibachi restaurant!

Playing in the neighborhood pool with Aunt Kelley!

I was able to talk the girls into reading books while on vacation as long as we got ice cream once we finished them. It became our favorite tradition while on vacation!

Lilly had had about 3-4 birthday celebrations by the time her actual birthday came around so I suggested we go to Goodwill to pick out a birthday present. That way, she wouldn't be limited to small toys that could fit in our car and we wouldn't have to accumulate more stuff overall. They found these bikes and a few other things and were thrilled to play with it all while we were on vacation.

We also went to a local bakery and got some birthday treats. This was a Marshmallow pop covered in chocolate and sprinkles.

Wendy got a cake pop.
