W&L December 2018

Aside from our Advent Calendar Activities, PJ and I still got to go to some parties during the month of December. This was Apple's Christmas Party hosted by the Four Seasons!

But the after the party, I'm back in my pajamas to take the babysitter home.

Some friends came over and the girls had to get in their princess best!

Potty training Lilly has been a little bit more difficult than Wendy, especially in the poop department. This was one day at church when she pooped all over her skirt and tights and all we had for her was a pull up to change into. Lesson learned.

The girls pretending to be mermaids one night.

Shopping at Whole Foods! Coincidentally, this was also the day my window broke in my car and I took my car in to get fixed. What I thought was going to be a simple repair turned in to a whole day of needing my car in the shop. Thankfully I have good friends who can pick me, Lilly, and my groceries up!

Getting better at riding her bike.

I had a book swap at book club and had a book left over. I put it on the shelf in the office and PJ and I were placing our bets as to how long it would take Wendy to find it.

It was the next day.

Trying to play with Mr. Potato Head.

Wendy and Lilly did not do well sharing a room so we got a trundle bed for them to have occasional sleep overs but separated their sleeping quarters otherwise.

Baxter getting into dress up a little.

Wendy's turn!

Wendy helping to clean up.

Experimenting with Daddy's new phone.

I was shopping for some stocking stuffers on my own and the store owner of my favorite store in town had fun entertaining Lilly. She put "Unicorn poop" aka glittery lip gloss on Lilly and Lilly felt very special!

Lilly has stopped napping but falls asleep in the car almost on cue when I go to pick Wendy up from Preschool.

Wendy made this at school and I couldn't stop giggling!

Chickfila saves the day!

Baxter trapped under Wendy's bed with the trundle pulled out.

Sometimes he just sits on the stairs and stares at us. The keeper of the gate, this one!

PJ was working out and using Wendy to do shoulder presses. She just thought it was fun.

Posing at the mall.

On the way back from the mall, everyone passed out! (Well, PJ was pretending...)

Playing at church, waiting for mommy to get out of her meetings!

Trying some new organization for the playroom.

Playing in my closet with Wendy's baby.

She made a hammock for the baby!

The kids discovered a "funny faces" app and love it!

Lilly got to sneak in to the big kid class at the YMCA and got to do some crafts!

I love this one.

Playing with the camera on my new phone!

My Christmas elf outfit.

Wendy made a snowflake tent in the playroom.

Trying to capture Lilly's pretty dress.

Every once in a while they're so sweet to one another!

Wendy's Christmas presentation at school.

Lilly went poo poo on the potty!! After weeks of her pooping in her pants, this was something to document!

Christmas manicures!

Oh, Lilly!

Putting out the Christmas Eve presents!

Potty training does weird things to a person.

Play date with Ms. Paige! She doesn't babysit for us as much anymore but the kids still love her.

We made these hot chocolate snowmen jars.

PJ and I got to go to an ugly Christmas sweater party where we were supposed to bring gag gifts. I thought, to some this would be a great present and to some it would be a gag- I would let them choose.

PJ sampling the fruit my mammow sent.

The presents we ended up with- PJ with a Donald Trump chia head and me with some doggies for Lilly's room.

I'm pretty sure she dressed herself.

Nature walk at the park.

Lilly's updated room with her new bed and her doggie picture!

Wendy saying "I work out!"

Christmas is tiring. Lilly and I passed out together.

We have a neighbor who loves to give treats to Baxter (and the kids). This was him so proud he tore the squeaker out of his beloved toy.

Christmas Sunday dresses!

Trying to get a picture with all of us...

I'll take what I can get.

Back to the ugly Christmas sweater party, all the guys.

And all the girls.

Then prepping for Auntie Amber to come for Christmas! PJ put the girls to work.

But then they got to play

Trying out the camera on my new phone. The flash was on. I blinded PJ a little bit. Woops!

They're here! The cousins are here! So we opened our Christmas jams (Christmas eve tradition).

Picked up Baxter's poop (Well, PJ did)

Took some Christmas naps

Got into our Christmas Jams

And went to see a house light show! It was a very popular night to go see it, the place was crawling with cars. But very well done!

Putting out all the presents once the kids were in bed.

Then, we woke up the next morning to this. Alex and Hannah were very patient waiting for all of us to get up before they touched even their stockings!

We had to encourage the kids to come downstairs.

Wendy was game.

But Lilly took some coaxing.

Wendy kept saying "but, it's not Christmas! It's not snowing!" Sorry kid. We live in Texas now.

Sister love!

Christmas dinner! Ham, cornbread, green bean casserole, mac & cheese, Brussels Sprouts and special drinks of Egg Nog, chocolate milk, and Martineli's!

And then, of course, Birthday cake!

It only took a day for Baxter to tear up his toy.

The next day we played soccer in the cul-de-sac.

Alex and PJ built a robot.

Hannah created a slide for the little girls.

Rewind a little bit to a few Sunday's before Christmas, the nursery had a live nativity where Wendy got to be Mary.

And Lilly got to be a wise man.

I got to go shopping with Hannah. This was an outfit we picked out for her "grunge" style. Lucky for her, I grew up in the 90's when grunge was life!

PJ took the kids to see The Grinch.

Then out to a park.

The next day we went on a hike.

Lilly got to ride in the hiking backpack.

It was a little muddy so we held hands to help each other.

I think a great time was had by all!

We tried to make slime and it ended up being blue goo.

We did have one accident during Christmas and PJ had to fix the garage door so that meant a trip to the hardware store. It's fixed.

Trying to entertain the kids on a rainy cold Sunday so we taught them hop scotch!

And tried to make face collages. Hah!

Finally, church time!

PJ got switched from teaching the 11 year olds in the kids class to being a teacher in Sunday School.

When it's cold in Texas, we all need some time by the fire.

Wendy put my coat on (legs through the arms of the coat) and then put a baby in the hood and was walking around saying she had a baby in her tummy. I think she's going to grow up to be an awesome mommy!

Back to the park!

And fireworks to ring in the New Years!

Wendy's teacher uploaded all the pictures for preschool from November and December. Have fun seeing what Wendy has been doing in school!

Show and tell: Bring a leaf. She climbed a tree to get a specific leaf to bring in.

Wendy's Thanksgiving presentation.

Show and Tell: Something that makes a sound. There's a button on this bag that sings about shopping for groceries.

Wendy's class got to participate in a singing to the elderly at the church that hosts her preschool. It was so sweet!

Wendy's teachers are so brave and willing to do crafts that I would never do with them. I'm not sure what product this is but Wendy said it was some kind of glue that, when it dries, it gets really soft.

Thanks to a great year!
